Dental hygiene treatments

1. Instruction and Motivation for Proper Oral Care

The foundation of treatment is always conscious oral care. During the instruction, we demonstrate how to effectively and gently keep your teeth and gums clean at home. We provide personalized advice on which toothbrush, toothpaste, dental floss, or interdental brush to use. The motivational part aims to help you understand why regular cleaning is important and how it can prevent tartar, gingivitis, or even periodontal disease. Special attention is given to the specific cleaning needs of dental restorations, especially implants. This is not a quick briefing but a genuine, educational dialogue where all your questions are answered. Our goal is to help you confidently and consciously care for your teeth in your daily life.

2. Tartar Removal (Scaling)

Tartar is not only aesthetically unpleasant but can also lead to serious health problems. During tartar removal, we use an ultrasonic device to remove hardened plaque from the teeth and below the gum line. This is a completely painless and quick procedure, but local anesthesia can be applied to sensitive areas if needed. The treatment not only improves the cleanliness of the teeth but also helps prevent gum bleeding, gingivitis, and periodontitis. After the procedure, patients immediately experience a fresh, clean feeling.

3. Air Polishing (AirFlow Treatment)

Air polishing is a specialized cleaning procedure that uses compressed air, water, and fine flavored sodium bicarbonate powder to remove discoloration and biofilm from the surface of the teeth. It is particularly effective against stains caused by coffee, tea, red wine, or smoking. AirFlow is gentle yet highly thorough – leaving the tooth surface smooth, clean, and shiny after the treatment. It is often combined with tartar removal, making the teeth not only healthier but also visibly more aesthetic. The treatment is completely painless and quick, taking about 15–20 minutes.

4. Teeth Whitening (At-Home and In-Office – Using Opalescence Products)

Teeth whitening safely and effectively brightens the color of your teeth. In-office whitening uses a special gel to achieve powerful and fast results, usually in a single session. For at-home whitening, a custom-made tray is created, into which a lower-concentration gel is applied – worn for a specified time to gradually whiten the teeth. Both methods are effective and safe, without damaging the enamel. Before the treatment, we always perform an assessment and recommend tartar removal if necessary to ensure the whitening agent works evenly. The results are long-lasting, especially with proper at-home care.

5. Tooth Jewelry Application

Tooth jewelry is a small, sparkling decoration applied to the front teeth to create a unique and radiant smile. The application is completely painless, requires no drilling, and does not damage the enamel. It is attached with a special adhesive to the intact surface of the tooth and can be removed at any time without damage. A wide range of colors, shapes, and materials is available to choose from. The procedure is quick, taking about 20–30 minutes, and the result is immediately visible. It’s an ideal choice for adding a little extra sparkle to your smile – whether for an event or long-term wear.

6. Manual Scaling (Hand Tartar Removal)

Manual scaling is a more precise and gentle form of tartar removal, where special hand instruments are used to clean the surface of the teeth and areas below the gum line. It is used when ultrasonic devices cannot reach all deposits or for patients sensitive to vibrations. This is particularly important for implants, bridges, or narrow interdental spaces. Hand instruments allow detailed, controlled cleaning even in hard-to-reach areas. This method is more time consuming but extremely thorough – often necessary during periodontal treatments. After the procedure, teeth feel smoother and cleaner, and the gums become healthier.
