Introduction

Dr. Bertalan Németh

Oral surgeon and implantologist, ITI Fellow

I completed my university studies at Semmelweis University and spent one
semester at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm. In 2010, I graduated
with a summa cum laude distinction.

In 2015, I obtained my qualification as a dentoalveolar surgeon at the
Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Dentistry at Semmelweis
University. Following this, I worked in dental tourism in Budapest and
London, performing almost exclusively oral surgical procedures.

In 2018, I was awarded a scholarship from the largest international
organization dedicated to dental implantology (International Team for
Implantology –
www.iti.org), which is granted to only 20 fortunate individuals worldwide each year.

Thanks to this opportunity, I spent a year at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), Faculty of Dentistry, Postdoctoral and Research Division, in Mexico City. In 2020, I was honored to become an ITI Fellow, a title held by only four other individuals in Hungary. That same year, I returned to the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Dentistry to participate in the teaching of Oral Implantology. In 2022, I obtained a specialization in Oral Implantology, during which I conducted a clinical study on immediate implantation at the Department of Periodontology at Semmelweis University. The publication of this study is
currently in progress.

Currently, I serve as the co-director of the ITI Study Club Budapest, where we organize Study Club events several times a year, inviting renowned
Hungarian and international speakers. I regularly give lectures and conduct training sessions both in Hungary and abroad. In 2023, we held a highly
successful practical cadaver course at the Department of Anatomy, Histology, and Embryology at Semmelweis University. As a member of the
Young ITI Global Taskforce, I actively participated in organizing the Young
ITI Day at the 2024 ITI World Symposium in Singapore. I also served as one of the moderators for the Young ITI World Series.
I am fluent in English and Spanish and am currently learning German.

Fruzsina Gulyás

Dental assistant, dental hygienist.

From the very beginning, many people have asked me why I chose this
specialization. Although I didn’t fully understand it at first, over the
years the answer has become clear. My profession has become my hobby. I
believe that if you love what you do, your work is not just a job but
something much more than that. To this day, I can easily lose myself in
dental-related articles, books, and lectures, and it’s completely normal
for professional questions to come up during friendly conversations.

I began my studies in dentistry in 2013, although I had shown a strong
interest in healthcare, psychology, and human relationships long before
that. As a first step, I obtained a dental assistant qualification, and
thanks to my motivating environment, it didn’t take long for me to want to
become even more involved in this field. In 2016, I was delighted to
receive my dental hygienist certification.

The attention to detail, precision, and the combination of psychological
and educational aspects required by my work have always been close to my
nature. However, because of my profession, I consciously strive to stay
up-to-date on topics related to dental hygiene, ensuring that my patients
receive the best possible care every time.

I believe it is important for treatments to be carefully planned,
tailored to the patient’s needs, and carried out in a calm environment.
Without these elements, it is impossible to build the trust that helps add
the extra value I aim to provide to my patients’ daily lives and bring
quality improvements to their health, oral hygiene, and overall life. As
the saying goes, “everything goes easier with a smile.”
